Pulling Into New Neoform City
It works for some value of working.
It took longer than I wanted, but I did get this working last night. It's still way more DIY than I really want, but I guess that's the price you pay for having something that isn't run By Others.
Today I'm going to futz with maybe hooking up a custom domain and getting git push
working.
Getting the neocities push
going last night was a bit of a pain because first
I had to install Ruby but once I did, it more or less worked. Definitely better
than uploading via the web interface which did not work the way I wanted. It's
possible I did something dumb, but the drag-and-drop just did not work.
I'm still intrigued by maybe doing Digital Ocean instead. There's also Netlify, which seems like the easiest way, but had more pay-as-you-go features than I was comfortable with.
I have now installed a spell checker on VS Code, so it should not be possilbe for me to make a dumb spelling mistake again.
I need to get an Unfurl plug-in installed, but I think I should get push
on
commit working first.
You know, maybe I would have been happier with something like Pika?
Feeling some type of way about maybe using Eleventy Notes instead. I just want cool callouts like they show on the 11ty.dev Style Guide.
But all this is distracting me from setting up the GitHub actions like I meant to do today. Ah well, tomorrow maybe.
